CATHY STEWART PROFILE

Cathy founded Cathy Stewart Associates as an independent coaching consultancy supporting the business community to realise more value in their resources. With 25 years’ experience as a chartered architect and project director leading multi-disciplined design teams for large international practices, Cathy has become fascinated by what makes an effective team. Her experience has furnished her with a privileged view of how teams perform.

Cathy is passionate about enabling everyone at every stage in their career to excel. Her natural, friendly and supportive style encourages her clients to explore their full potential and recognise their abilities.

Empowering individuals to take control of their goals makes for an effective member of the team and leader.

Given Cathy’s experience she has a particular interest in addressing the gender imbalance prevailing in some industries. Women currently represent only 15% of the property and construction industry workforce. Working in a traditionally male environment has illuminated some interesting insights into the value of a blended team.

Do the characteristics of individual team members’ influence overall performance and ultimate success?

What motivates individuals to perform?
